Important Registration Information
Registration note: Upon registration, a registration fee and tuition will be charged to your credit card. For more information regarding our tuition, discount, and make up or drop policies, please see our FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) page. Age is determined by the Wake County Public Schools cutoff date of August 31st.
Additional Information
2024/2025 Costume fees for Dance and Performing Arts classes are $116(+tax) and bill on November 1, 2024. Each costume includes a garment bag and a pair of tights. There is a separate costume fee for each class a student is enrolled in. It is assumed that all dance and performing arts students will participate in the recital, but If your child will not participate in the recital, you must submit written notice to office@energykidz.net by October 25th, 2024, or you will be charged the costume fee. Costume Fee is NON REFUNDABLE once billed.
- If a student registers after November 1st the Costume fee will be be billed the following on the first of the upcoming month until December 1st. Costume Fee is NON REFUNDABLE once billed.
- If a student registers after December 1st the Costume fee will be billed upon registration. Costume Fee is NON REFUNDABLE once billed.
- A Recital fee of $95 will be due by Feb 1, 2024, for the 2024/2025 session. The recital fee includes a t-shirt, trophy and contributes to the venue rental and production of the recital and staff. Tickets will be available for purchase prior to the recital. Recital fee is NON REFUNDABLE once billed.
- If a student registers after February 1st Recital and costume fee will be charged upon registration. Recital and Costume fee are NON REFUNDABLE.
- The last day to complete 2024/2025 Dance and Performing Arts makeup classes is Saturday, March 29th, 2024.
- ALL Classes with the exception of Tutu Tots & Tiny Tunes participate in the annual recital!

The tentative weekend date for the 2025 Dance and Performing Arts Recital is May 30-31, 2025. We will have multiple shows in our recital weekend and students will be assigned to a show accordingly. Please see our recital page for the most up to date information. With the exception of combo style classes, each class will perform one routine in the year end recital! More information will be sent by the program director when available.
Please be sure to note the start date of the classes below as some classes begin in June and others in August.

Style Descriptions
Acro
Acro teaches the floor skills of a gymnastics class and also focuses on flexibility, contortion and tumbling. Students will progress on a safe and personal skill level with the help of their teacher. Acro ranges from introductory skills such as cartwheel and walkovers to more advanced skills such as back handsprings and aerials.
Ballet
Ballet class teaches dancers the foundations of dance by learning proper technique, use of turn out, use of arms (port de bras), and understanding correct body placement. Traditional elements such as barre work, adagio, petite/grande allegro will also be incorporated. Students in this class will develop flexibility, strength, and coordination with the classical training.
Broadway Heels
Broadway Heels is a musical theater-style dance class that incorporates dancing and acting into one! Dancers will learn jazz techniques while also portraying a character or role. Many songs in this style will be from Broadway musicals!
Broadway Tap
Broadway Tap is a musical theater-style tap class that combines broadway style tap and theatrics into one! Dancers will learn the classic broadway tap technique while also portraying a character or role. Many songs in this style will be from Broadway musicals.
Contemporary
Contemporary uses both ballet and jazz style while incorporating controlled movement of ballet with the dynamics of jazz and modern Students will develop technical skills, as well as flexibility in this class. Each class will include a stretching and technical warm-up as well as choreography.
Creative Acting
Students will learn basic theater principles in stage movement, voice, diction, and pantomime. Students will act using the Improv method through their own imagination and directed creative play. Students will also learn the history and vocabulary of theater. They will practice techniques to overcome stage-fright and develop self-confidence as well as concentrate on improvisational techniques and acting skills.
Hip Hop
Hip Hop is an upbeat style developing their coordination, rhythm, and self-expression. It is typically performed to popular, but appropriate music. Students will learn funk, pop and street hip hop elements.
Jazz
Jazz consists of movements that will develop flexibility, cross-body movement, and expression while learning center, across-the-floor and center combinations. Jazz class includes traditional technique such as isolations, leaps, and turns. The class will take into account the rhythm and beat of the music and teach the student how to count music throughout class.
Jazz/Pom
Jazz/Pom incorporates the use of cheer poms with jazz technique! Dancers will learn traditional jazz elements in the pom dance style while doing center work, across the floor exercise and combinations.
Musical Theatre
In this upbeat, high-energy class, your student will learn new introductory skills in the areas of singing, dancing, and acting. The dance portion consists of movements that will develop flexibility, cross-body movement, and expression while learning center, across-the-floor and center combinations. Students will learn basic theater principles in stage movement, voice, diction, and pantomime. For the singing portion, students will explore the physiology and acoustics of the human singing voice in a group setting. Your student will be ready to bring their characters to life and belt out their favorite Broadway tunes.
Production
The production class is designed for 2nd-12th graders and will give students a hands-on experience as they work to create a full-length play or musical. They will also explore the technical elements of the stage and the history behind Theatre and Musical Theatre. This class is designed for a more focused performing arts student and it requires a Co-Requisite of a Musical Theatre, Theatre, Dance, Voice, or Weekly Lesson.
Theatre
Students will learn basic theater principles in stage movement, voice, diction, and pantomime. Students will also learn the history and vocabulary of theater. They will practice techniques to overcome stage-fright and develop self-confidence as well as concentrate on improvisational techniques and acting skills.
Voice Class
Voice Class is a fun way to be introduced to how to properly sing in an ensemble setting. Students will sing in duets and as a group. An exploration of the physiology and acoustics of the human singing voice in a group setting. Vocal techniques are taught in a group format as a healthy foundation for solo performance in both classical and non-classical singing styles.

Our Individual Piano, Flute, Violin, Ukulele and Vocal Lessons are used to build the student’s musicianship through a curriculum that covers essential skills, proficiency, widely accepted repertoire, and performance achievements. Teachers tailor lessons to each student’s age, goals, learning style, and musical preferences. Progress is updated monthly and available to view online.
The curriculum includes:
- Method – Widely accepted method books ensure that essential and expected skills are covered.
- Music Literacy – Reading and sight-reading of music notation, rhythm, dynamics, and expression.
- Technique – Accuracy, speed, stamina, coordination, dynamics, fluidity and efficiency of motion.
- Repertoire – Songs necessary to advance as a musician. Piano, Flute, and Voice curriculum includes classical and Musical Theatre repertoire. This is the foundation of proper technique.
Individual Piano, Flute, and Voice Lessons may be scheduled below! Make ups are offered for missed lessons and can be scheduled with the teacher on an individual basis. During extended holiday breaks monthly tuition is prorated and no make-ups are offered due to the large number of weekly lessons that would need to be made up between the instructors.
