Performer Information

Recital Performers will enter the backstage entrance of the facility for check-in 45 minutes before their show’s start time (exception is Company shows). Please arrive completely ready (hair and any makeup complete) and dressed in your costume or performance attire. One parent/guardian will check in with each performer backstage and will be given a wrist band that will vary in color by show. Only the parent with that wrist band will be allowed to pick up at the end of the show-we will not release a child to anyone else except the adult wearing the wristband. Only performers and eNeRGy staff will be allowed backstage and in the dressing room area before, during and after the show. Our staff will help performers in changing shoes and attire backstage. Again, we will not allow anyone backstage other than performers and staff to ensure the security and safety of our children.

Audience Information

Audience Members and Parents will enter and exit through the main entrance of Jones Auditorium, and will be allowed into the lobby 30 minutes before show start time. The house will open 15 minutes prior to show time. The facility will be cleared of all performers and audience members within 20 minutes after each show in preparation for the next show.

Children 4 and younger may sit on a lap. Children who are sitting in their own seat or who are 5 and older must have a ticket. Additionally, performers do not need a ticket to their own show.

Recital Teddy Bears and Flowers are also available when purchasing tickets! Pre-sale only until Friday, May 24, 2024.

Costumes, Hair & Make-up

PLEASE PUT YOUR CHILD’S NAME OR INITIALS ON EVERYTHING!

COSTUMES

Performers should arrive to the recital DRESSED in costume/recital tights with hair and makeup complete. Students cannot participate in the recital without their costume that day. Any additional costumes should be labeled with you child’s name and in a garment or travel bag to help keep safe. Many of the dancers will have costume accessories and hairpieces to go with their costume.  Performers received their accessories when they received their costumes.  Please be careful not to lose accessories, hairpieces, belts, etc, since they are impossible to replace.

HAIR

Non-ballet performers should style hair in a low ponytail. Ballet performers should wear a bun. For fly-away pieces, secure down with hairspray or matching hair colored bobby pins. At dress rehearsal, your child’s teacher will show how hair accessories should be worn at the show.

TIGHTS

One pair of tights has been included with your recital costume. This is the color/style you are required to wear for the recital. Only wear these tights to the recital performance. We recommend having a spare pair packed with your child’s recital gear  in case of a run or an emergency. For convenience, you may order additional pairs through the studio’s online boutique. If you experience a run, clear nail polish and/or hairspray is great for controlling the run.

MAKEUP

While makeup is not required, we do recommend some makeup so that dancers do not appear “washed out” due to stage lighting. Mascara, blush and lipstick/gloss are encouraged at minimum.

ACCESSORIES

We want performers  to look uniform and professional on stage. In order to do this, dancers are required to wear the same hairstyle, provided tights, shoes and accessories for recital.

Earrings: Only Diamond stud or pearl stud earrings may be worn.

Undergarments: Undergarments need to be invisible. Tights need to be worn with no underwear. Nude bras with clear straps may be worn.

Shoes: All dancers must have the required class shoe. Please remember to put your name in your shoes.

Each dance class has a specific Costume, Tights and Shoes (same as class shoes)

Dress Rehearsal

June 1st-6th, 2024

Dress Rehearsal will be held during your child’s LAST normal class time at the studio before the recital. Performers should bring all costumes, shoes, and accessories for dress rehearsal, as well as wear their hair as if it were recital day. Dress Rehearsal is MANDATORY to participate in the recital!
